EXPLORE NORTH & MID WALES

Some tickets are more than just about the railways. Some, like this one, allow you bus travel and train travel for one amazing price!

North & Mid Wales has so much to offer beyond the railways. Snowdon national park is home to some of the best scenery in Great Britain. This ticket allows you not only to travel the railways, but on buses too. This allows you to get up close and personal to the beautiful national park!

Things to do:

  • A lovely scenic round trip. Starting at Shrewsbury head along the Cambrian Coastline as far as Porthmadog. After some time in Porthmadog catch the 3B bus service to Blaneau Ffestiniog. (You could use the Ffestiniog heritage railway instead of bus, but this is not included in the rover ticket) After some time in Blaneau Ffestiniog catch the train up to Llandudno Junction before heading back to Shrewsbury on a Cardiff service.
  • The Conwy Valley: Home to some amazing little stations: Pont-y-Pant & Tal-y-Cafn to name a couple. These stations both allow for some amazing walks to be made. If cute chocolate box villages is more your thing, then make sure you visit Betws-y-Coed. I recommend the steak pie at the bakery next door to the spar shop.
  • Isle of Anglesey: Head to Ty Croes and from there take a walk to Rhosneigr. A walk that takes in fields, ponds and golden beaches. While on the Isle of Anglesey make sure you visit Llanfairpwllgwyngyll. Home to the longest station name in Great Britain.
  • Llandudno: Visit Llandudno for a walk along the beach and up the Great Orme Mines. Take a trip on the cable car. While near why not pop along to Conwy castle. Always worth a visit when in the area.
